Volunteer Maintenance Team

This photo shows a new patch of grass that we planted in fall 2015. The pond is in the background. Two volunteers are in the picture: Fran Givelber and Priscilla Smith. A good deal of volunteer effort went into clearing the ground in preparation for seeding.

Volunteer maintenance sessions 2020

The volunteer maintenance team is holding sessions biweekly on Thursday mornings. All sessions will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until noon.

Sessions are being conducted in accordance with Brookline’s Covid-19 restrictions. Volunteers are expected to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing. Volunteers are also expected to bring their own gloves. Because of Covid-19 concerns, the number of volunteers in the Sanctuary at any one time is limited. For that reason, volunteers are asked to register with the volunteer coordinator before each session. To register, send an email message to john@shreffler.com

Please check back for upcoming sessions.

Participation on the team is an excellent way to get exercise, learn about nurturing a nature preserve in an urban setting, and appreciate the beauty of the Sanctuary.
