Town of Brookline Announces Re-Opening of Hall’s Pond Sanctuary and Amory Woods

The Town of Brookline’s Department of Public Works is pleased to welcome the community back to Hall’s Pond Sanctuary and Amory Woods starting on Thursday, June 18.

Hall’s Pond Sanctuary—first protected as a conservation area in the 1970s—has long served as one of Brookline’s most cherished natural areas. Together with the adjoining Amory Woods, the sanctuary provides vital habitat for birds, amphibians, pollinators, and other wildlife. Recent path and boardwalk renovations within the sanctuary allow for universal access and highlight the importance of connectivity between urban parks and neighborhoods with wild spaces.

“The reopening of the fully accessible Hall’s Pond boardwalk is a significant milestone for our community,” said Milee Pradhan, Parks and Open Space Director for the Town of Brookline.

On Wednesday, July 15 from 4:00–6:00 p.m., the Brookline Department of Public Works, in partnership with the Friends of Hall’s Pond, will host a re-opening celebration for the sanctuary. This family-friendly gathering will offer a short speaking program, opportunities to learn about the sanctuary’s wildlife and restoration efforts, and light refreshments. Guests can explore the boardwalk, woodland trails, and pond overlook, with natural resource staff and local volunteers available to share information about ongoing stewardship efforts.
